How to Apply for WIC

To get started, you first need to call and set up an appointment. Local WIC program staff will tell you what you need to bring to your appointment.

At your appointment, a WIC nutritionist or nurse will check your diet and review your health history.

If you are eligible you will receive nutrition information and counseling, referrals to other services and checks to buy foods such as:

 - milk                  - fruit juice               - fresh fruit and vegetables
 - cheese              - infant formula         - whole wheat bread or brown rice
 - eggs                 - peanut butter          - dried or canned beans or infant baby food
 - tuna fish            - carrots
 - cereal                - dried beans and peas

These foods help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, babies, and children healthy and strong.
