Parents Provide Kids Decide

 Use the new rules to help children:
 -Eat well
 -Get the right amount of food
 -Grow the body that is right for them

 New Rule: Parents determine what foods your family will eat.
 -Buy and serve healthy foods
 -Choose a variety of foods you want your child to eat
 -Prepare the same foods for children and adults

 What to serve for a main meal:
 -
Main dish (such as a type of meat)
 -Pasta, potato, or rice
 -Vegitable and/or fruit
 -Milk. Always serve milk with meals
 -Butter, margerine, salad dressing, etc.

 New Rule: Parents determine when meals and snacks are  offered.
 
-Have regular times for meals and snacks, but be flexible on special  days when your child is not feeling well.
 -Let your child eat only at meal and snack times.

 -Meals and snacks are best eaten at the table
 -Make mealtime pleasant

 New Rule: Children decide how much to eat and even if they  will eat.
 -Serve child-size portions. Give more food if your child asks for more
 -Let your child serve him/herself.
 -Allow your child to decide how much to eat.  Remember some days  he may eat only a bite or two of a few foods and some days he may  eat everything.
